Helping companion animals to lead healthier, longer and happier lives is not just
our company commitment … it’s our personal mission. That’s why we have worked very
hard to not only provide the best, health-promoting products, we have also established
a foundation to help improve the lives of abandoned companion animals all across
the U.S. The Dr. Jane’s HealthyPetNet Foundation is a non-profit organization absolutely
committed to supporting a variety of animal rescue groups, all of which are dedicated
to helping to rescue neglected and unwanted animals.
Every time you purchase a Trilogy (or HealthyPetNet) product, a portion of the profits
are contributed to a fund that supports the operations of this organization. Thank
you so much for your continued business! Together, we’re making a positive difference
in the world, one animal at a time.
We’ve awarded thousands of dollars to numerous worthy rescue groups, which are listed below in alphabetical order (including the year(s) funds were granted) …
American Black & Tan Coonhounds Rescue, Inc. (Awarded Funds in 2007)
Another breed-specific rescue group, this organization places abandoned coonhounds
with foster homes until appropriate adoptive families can be matched with these
quintessential American dogs. They currently have forty dogs in their care, rescued
from locations throughout the country. Covering all veterinary expenses, and food
costs for foster homes when they can, this is an excellent group deserving of extra
help.
Animal Friends Humane Society (Awarded Funds in 2007, 2009)
This small group has been able to accomplish a great deal in only seven years. They
provide superb care for 100 dogs and cats. These animals have been rescued from
various plights, and now are housed in a climate-controlled building that’s kept
impeccably clean and features both indoor and outdoor runs. With several vets providing
needed medical care, these companion animals are destined for much better lives
with the help of this very special group.
Animal Life Savers, Inc. (Awarded Funds in 2008)
This non-profit organization rescues homeless animals in the North Jersey area.
Animal Life Savers provides assistance throughout the adoption process, in an effort
to care for homeless animals in desperate need of love, personal attention and happy
homes. They utilize TNR Programs (Trap, Neuter and Release) to reduce the overwhelming
stray cat population in the greater metropolitan area. Animal Life Savers also dedicates
significant time and energy to the education of children about the humane treatment
of animals and developing compassion toward all forms of life.
Doberman Rescue Concern, Inc. (Awarded Funds in 2007)
In recent years, puppy mills have become a rampant problem in our country. As a
result, more and more rescues are focusing their energies on specific breeds. This
group was dear to my heart because Dobermans are true family dogs – smart, gentle
and protective of their families. Since 1981, this group has helped to place more
than 1,600 Dobermans with loving homes. The folks who run this rescue handle the
majority of their adoptive placing through word-of-mouth. While seeking adoptive
homes, these caretakers bring these wonderful dogs into their own home, covering
the costs of meals and medical care.
Domino’s House (Awarded Funds in 2008)
This is a very special adoption organization located in Palm City, FL, devoted entirely
to saving homeless cats. Every one of their cats has been rescued after facing starvation,
injury due to accidents or cruelty, disease or a combination of these life-threatening
challenges.
Finding Forever Homes (Awarded Funds in 2009)
The primary goal of this non-profit is to place each dog with their ideal family,
in hopes that these wonderful animals will find their "forever home".
They are dedicated to training and spend time every day with their pups prior to
placing them in loving homes. They pay particular attention to each dog’s personality
traits in an effort to match them with new pet parents. All dogs are spayed or neutered,
crate- and house-trained, and are taught basic commands. We are pleased to support
this new adoption agency in Madison, AL.
Greyhound Pets of America (Awarded Funds in 2009)
The Southeast Coast Florida Chapter of Greyhound Pets of America is a not-for-profit
corporation that is organized and operated solely by volunteers. Everyone involved
is dedicated to finding responsible and loving homes for retired racing greyhounds
who, for any number of reasons, are no longer able to compete at the racetrack.
Every penny they receive goes directly to pay for the care of their wonderful dogs,
to maintain their kennel, and to defer the costs of events that promote greyhound
adoption to the general population.
HART for Animals, Inc. (Awarded Funds in 2009)
This non-profit organization is dedicated to saving the lives of homeless pets in
Western Maryland. Through a vast network of individual volunteers and rescue organizations,
HART has rescued over 2,500 animals by transporting them to more populous locations,
where they have a greater chance of adoption. In light of the ever-escalating numbers
of abandoned animals, they have launched a grassroots campaign to build an animal
adoption center in Garrett County. We are proud of our support of this incredible
operation.
Hobe Sound Animal Protection League (Awarded Funds in 2007, 2008)
Operating in Florida since 2001, this organization is committed to rescuing feral
cats. These animals exist in the wild with the constant threat of extreme temperatures,
environmental toxins, injury by vehicles, diseases and predatory animals. Volunteers
for this group use their homes to foster and domesticate these beautiful wild creatures.
These cats are either adopted by families after being domesticated, or remain at
Caring Fields, a wonderful property that features large houses for cats, complete
with fish tanks and TV’s!
Humane Society Pet Rescue Fl, Inc.
This organization’s mission is to give animals a second chance. Located in Okeechobee,
Florida, Humane Society Pet Rescue has volunteers that educate the general public
about treating pets more humanely. They offer advice on training, feeding and grooming,
as well as low-cost spay and neuter information and preventive medications. Pets
surrendered are temperament tested, treated for medical conditions and groomed.
This includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, preventatives, etc. When pets are ready,
they find forever homes through their adoption process.
JC Care (Awarded Funds in 2008)
Based in Santa Monica, CA, this canine rescue, like many of those we support, is
run strictly by volunteers. This organization focuses their energies on the rescue,
rehabilitation and placement of Japanese Chin dogs. JC Care does not restrict their
search for good homes to California, but all across the nation. We were delighted
to contribute financial support for their tireless work of this great breed.
Lifelong Friends Pet Adoptions (Awarded Funds in 2008)
Like many shelters, Lifelong Friends of Lago Vista, TX, has seen a dramatic spike
in the number of abandoned pets due to the economic downturn. The devoted individuals
working in this haven are committed to saving stray and abandoned animals. Many
of the dogs and cats in their care have been taken in from local animal control
agencies unable to cope with the huge number of abandoned animals. Every cat and
dog at Lifelong Friends is examined by a veterinarian and provided with the care
they require. We are very proud to declare our support for this Texas rescue.
Lucky Cat Adoptions (Awarded Funds in 2008)
Lucky Cat Adoptions’ mission is to improve the welfare of stray and abandoned cats
and kittens throughout the Jacksonville metropolitan area. They maintain their association
solely on donations and through fundraising efforts, receiving no funds from any
city, state or federal agencies. Their feral rescues receive the same medical care
that adoptable cats do and are eventually re-homed with those who have expansive
properties. Every penny they collect goes toward veterinary care, food, litter and
essential expenses for the animals they rescue. We commend their efforts to educate
the public on responsible pet ownership and their promotion of spaying and neutering
programs.
Lucky Ones, Inc.
This organization rescues "at risk" dogs (facing euthanasia) from the
Southern Maryland Tri-County Animal Shelter (TCAS) located in Hughesville, Maryland.
Their goal is to save these dogs from certain death and give them a chance to spend
the rest of their lives with loving adopters. Lucky Ones also a not-for-profit veterinary
clinic offering spay/neuter surgery and vaccinations at a cost well below that of
full-service veterinary clinics.
Noah’s Wish (Awarded Funds in 2007)
During the recent wave of fires that engulfed huge swathes of California’s forests
and neighborhoods, thousands of animals were displaced. One organization took the
lead in protecting the surviving animals, including cows, donkeys, horses, sheep,
chickens and goats. They provided veterinary care and food, not only for these animals,
but also for the dogs and cats that escaped with their families to temporary shelters.
This same organization provided care for thousands of animals in the wake of Hurricane
Katrina.
Noah's Ark Sanctuary for Abused and Abandoned Animals (Awarded Funds in
2008)
In 2003, Noah's Ark opened a small feline adoption center in Pompano Beach,
FL. The cats are humanely trapped, tested for disease, spayed and/or neutered, and
vaccinated. And although they do not have a physical shelter for dogs, they do not
hesitate to rescue the strays they encounter, placing them with volunteer foster
parents. Their ultimate goal is to create a no-cage, no-kill shelter with enough
fenced area for healthy feral cats to roam freely and safely, and to house stray
and abandoned dogs in a home-like setting with room to run.
People’s Anti-Cruelty Association (PACA) (Awarded Funds in 2007)
In existence since 1973, this organization is the oldest “no-kill” animal rescue
group in New Mexico. They focus on abandoned and/or abused cats and dogs. They provide
all needed medical care and safe havens until adoptive homes can be located. Taking
special care to place companion animals in home environments matching personalities
of pets and new pet parents, this group is on the leading edge of progressive pet
adoption.
Pet Haven Rescue, Inc. (Awarded Funds in 2009)
Founded in 2001, Pet Haven Rescue is located in Loxahatchee Groves, Florida. This
organization is devoted to saving the lives of unwanted dogs. Pet Haven Rescue provides
loving care to rescued dogs until suitable forever homes are found. All of their
dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, micro chipped and heartworm tested
prior to adoption.
Pets with Disabilities (Awarded Funds in 2009)
Located in Prince Frederick, Maryland, this small but mighty organization rescues
pets with disabilities, as well as provides information and support to families
caring for pets with disabilities. Pets with Disabilities was founded in 2000 by
married couple Mike and Joyce. Their lives were changed forever after their rescue
dog, Duke, broke his back playing as a puppy. Now, they travel all over the country
with Duke and several other dogs, promoting their mission: "Provide a positive
voice for dogs and cats with disabilities that desperately need homes”.
Rescue K911 (Awarded Funds in 2008)
Located in Tallapoosa County, AL, this all-volunteer rescue group takes in stray,
lost and abandoned animals. Over the last eight years, they have rescued over 600
dogs and 34 cats from the streets of loneliness and starvation. On any given day,
they offer excellent care to over 100 companion animals. Rescue K911 provides food,
shelter and vet care to those in need; promote spay and neuter programs in their
community; and helps place newly revived and healthy dogs and cats into loving homes.
Rescue Rehab Home, Inc. (Awarded Funds in 2007, 2008)
Founded in 2006, this organization focuses on a handful of dogs at a time, rescuing
those who seem nearly beyond hope. In what is truly an incredible undertaking in
care and devotion to canines, this unique organization purchased ten acres of land
in the mountains near Boulder, CO, for the express purpose of giving dogs room to
frolic and roam. They provide medical care, boarding, feeding and training, all
with the long-term goal of placing these dogs with loving families.
Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary (Funds Awarded in 2008)
The folks at Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary & Hospital concentrate their efforts
on population control through sterilization, not euthanasia. This Jupiter, FL, facility
offers low-cost spay/neuter services and medical assistance to the public, regardless
of a person’s ability to cover the costs. An oasis among shelters, all animals welcomed
here remain in residence until they are placed with caring families.
Sanctuary Animal Refuge and Hospice (Awarded Funds in 2008)
This caring group seeks to provide sanctuary to any animal that does not have a
human family. They actively work to rehabilitate all of the animals brought into
their facility. Rehabilitated animals will often become surrogate parents to new
additions at the Sanctuary, creating security for all who call this loving place
home. The living quarters for the animals are "condos" or "town homes",
all of which are furnished with the comforts of a home. Volunteers spend time with
all of the animals on a structured schedule to ensure that they receive plenty of
exercise, human interaction and healthy doses of love.
